Your sales history, customer list and stock records are some of your most valuable business assets. Protecting them does not have to be complicated.

  1. Automatic daily backups — stored in a separate location from the main computer.
  2. Separate user accounts — every cashier and manager logs in with their own account and only the permissions they need.
  3. Strong passwords and two-step login for owner and admin accounts.
  4. Keep software updated — updates close security holes that attackers look for.
  5. Train your staff to recognise suspicious emails, links and attachments.
A backup you have never tested is not really a backup. Try restoring it at least once every few months.
